Experienced education lawyer Timothy J. Groves has joined Barton Gilman.
No stranger to Barton Gilman, Tim is rejoining the firm after spending six years in the education and nonprofit sectors. He has served as a development officer for the Rhode Island Foundation, as the executive director of the Rhode Island League of Charter Schools, and, more recently, as the director of development and partnerships, and interim executive director at the Coalition for College, where he draws on his experience as an attorney, fundraiser and leader on behalf of the Coalition and the students it serves.
Before becoming a lawyer, Tim taught high school English for four years, and then co-founded Schoolyard, Inc., which developed and maintained comprehensive websites for independent schools.
Tim earned his J.D., cum laude, from Roger Williams University School of Law, his M.A., magna cum laude, from Middlebury College, Bread Loaf School of English, and his B.A., cum laude, in English from Colby College. He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut. More information about Tim can be found here.
