In one notable case, the firm helped a large commercial construction company defeat a seven-figure property damage claim involving claims of alleged environmental contamination.
In a personal injury case involving alleged exposure to asbestos on construction sites, firm attorneys persuaded the Rhode Island Superior Court to grant summary judgment to the firm’s clients based on the argument that the lawsuit was untimely under the Rhode Island Statute of Repose. As a consequence of this ruling, asbestos claims against building contractors in Rhode Island have all but stopped.
In addition, our attorneys have successfully persuaded the Rhode Island Supreme Court to dismiss 36 cases involving Canadian plaintiffs whose asbestos claims had no connection to Rhode Island.
