Angela L. Carr has been named by Providence Business News as a 2019 Woman to Watch in Legal Services.
Angela, a partner in Barton Gilman’s Providence office, is an experienced civil litigator, focusing her trial practice on professional liability defense, employment law, and business litigation. She regularly provides risk consulting for hospitals and practice groups in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
In addition to her legal practice, Angela currently serves as secretary of the board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State, president of the Providence College Greater Providence Alumni Club, and as a member of the Providence College President’s Council. In 2015, she completed the Leadership Rhode Island (Lambda II Class) community leadership program.
In the legal community, Angela serves as vice president of the board of directors of the Defense Counsel Rhode Island, and co-chairs the Medical Malpractice Subcommittee of the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association. She was named a 40 Under Forty by Providence Business News in 2014, a Rhode Island Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2012-2014 and Super Lawyer in 2015, and a Massachusetts Super Lawyer in 2017-2018.
Angela and her fellow 2019 Women to Watch honorees will be celebrated on May 23.
