Following a competitive application and selection process, C. Alexander Chiulli has joined Leadership Rhode Island’s 2020 Pi II class.
Each year Leadership Rhode Island selects a diverse group of established and emerging leaders to participate in a thought-provoking, 10-month community leadership program. Participants refine and enhance their commitment to Rhode Island, and experience personal growth, professional development and community leadership by examining statewide issues through the perspectives of experts, on-site visits, readings, discussion groups, problem-solving exercises, and other experiential activities,.
Alex is an attorney at Barton Gilman providing legal counsel to individuals, emerging businesses, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions with respect to intellectual property, Internet law, privacy and information law, entrepreneurship, and the First Amendment as well as education law, general liability, employment, contract, and corporate matters. He frequently presents and is published in articles covering issues related to emerging and small business owners. Alex received his J.D. from Suffolk Law School, with distinction in the area of intellectual property and received Suffolk Law’s Stanley W. Sokoloff Intellectual Property Award, and he obtained a B.S. in Business Administration from Fairfield University in Connecticut.
Alex has been named a New England Super Lawyer Rising Star and distinguished with Professional Excellence in the Law by Rhode Island Monthly. In addition to his service for the Justinian Society, he is on the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities and the Rhode Island Center for the Book.
