Dr. Taino Palermo focuses his practice on education law, federal Indian law, and international Indigenous and human rights law and policy.
In addition to his practice at the firm, Taino is the Legal Director of the Center for Indigenous Peoples Rights, an Adjunct Law Professor at Roger Williams University School of Law, and a faculty member at College Unbound.
During law school, Taino was a judicial extern for the Judge William Smith of the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island, implemented Street Law at the Rhode Island Training School (juvenile detention facility), co-founded the American Indian Law Student Association, and a summer associate at Barton Gilman. Prior to law school, Taino served as the Program Director for both the Community Development, and Healthy Communities, degree programs at Roger Williams University where he created the state’s first graduate degree in Community Development.
