Mariam is a skilled legal advocate with extensive litigation experience in education law, constitutional law and criminal defense. She focuses her practice on education law.
Mariam’s litigation career includes a notable tenure as Principal Law Clerk in the Felony Youth Part at the Supreme Court of the City of New York. In this role, she conducted in-depth legal research and analysis, drafted judicial opinions and orders, and provided crucial legal advice on complex juvenile felony proceedings.
As an attorney at The Bronx Defenders, Mariam represented over 200 clients in misdemeanor and felony cases before the Bronx Criminal Court. During her time with the organization, Mariam’s work included representing individuals at school suspension hearings, and she is well-versed in the legal challenges schools face as well as the importance of ensuring children’s access to appropriate education and special services.
Now focusing on education law, Mariam brings a wealth of litigation expertise and a deep commitment to addressing legal challenges within the educational system.
