PROVIDENCE (May 16, 2014) – Sara E. Sweeney was recently elected president of the Rhode Island Women’s Bar Association for a one-year term.
An experienced civil litigator, Sweeney concentrates her trial practice on dental and medical malpractice defense, general professional liability defense, and employment law. She was named by Super Lawyers as a 2013 Rhode Island Rising Star.
The Rhode Island Women’s Bar Association promotes the advancement of the status of women in Rhode Island and in the legal profession. As part of its mission, RIWBA offers ongoing continuing education, mentoring, and philanthropic programs and services.
“I am thrilled to assume this position with an organization and mission that I truly believe in. I cannot wait to get started on another year of productive and valuable opportunities for our members,” said Sweeney. “One of my initiatives is to focus on expanding our membership of government attorneys and in-house counsel. This will add fresh perspectives to the RIWBA and strengthen its ability to serve its members and the Rhode Island legal profession.”
