PROVIDENCE (May 22, 2012) – The firm has been named a Best Place to Work in Rhode Island for the fifth consecutive year as part of the Providence Business News’ annual Best Places to Work competition.
The firm has steadily risen in the Best Places to Work rankings each year, culminating with a number one ranking last year. The rankings for 2012 will be revealed at a gala event June 14.
The business publication ranked companies in three categories depending on the number of individuals they employ in Rhode Island. Twelve companies, including Barton Gilman, were honored in the small company category, which encompasses businesses with 15-to-49 employees.
Organizations were judged on responses to both an extensive management report and an employee survey. The resulting data were compiled by Best Companies, an independent research organization based in Harrisburg, Pa., which then chose the winners.
“All of us – attorneys, administrators, assistants and paralegals – work very hard every day to maintain a respectful, congenial work atmosphere. That’s always been part of our culture, and it’s important to all of us that we keep it that way, in no small measure because of our commitment to provide high caliber service to our clients. This shared commitment of excellence to our clients is what drives us to work well together, and consistently focus on a positive workplace,” said Steve Adams, a member of the firm’s executive committee.
