Chiulli named president of the Justinian Society of Rhode Island

C. Alexander Chiulli was recently named President of the Justinian Law Society of Rhode Island.

The Justinian Law Society of Rhode Island provides a forum to its members to uphold the image of Italian-Americans, improve the administration of justice, to undertake pro bono activities, to conduct workshops, seminars, lectures, and other educational events; to generally promote the interchange of ideas and to encourage the cooperation among member attorneys as to all matters concerning the legal profession. In addition to its continuing legal education series, the JLS supports the advancement of qualified and distinguished Justinians in public office, and serves the Italian-American legal profession and the community.

Alex is an attorney at Barton Gilman providing legal counsel to individuals, emerging businesses, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions with respect to intellectual property, Internet law, privacy and information law, entrepreneurship, and the First Amendment as well as education law, general liability, employment, contract, and corporate matters. He frequently presents and is published in articles covering issues related to emerging and small business owners. Alex received his J.D. from Suffolk Law School, with distinction in the area of intellectual property and received Suffolk Law’s Stanley W. Sokoloff Intellectual Property Award, and he obtained a B.S. in Business Administration from Fairfield University in Connecticut.

Alex has been named a New England Super Lawyer Rising Star and distinguished with Professional Excellence in the Law by Rhode Island Monthly. In addition to his service for the Justinian Society, he is on the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities and the Rhode Island Center for the Book.
