PROVIDENCE (June 20, 2013) – The Providence Business News has named Angela L. Carr as one of its 40 Under Forty winners for 2014.
Carr and her fellow 40 Under Forty 2014 class members will be honored July 24 at Ochre Court on the campus of Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I.
The 40 Under Forty honorees were chosen based on career success and community involvement. All are legal and business professionals under the age of 40 who have made a commitment to making a difference on a local, national or international scale.
Carr focuses her practice on medical professional liability defense, employment law, and business litigation. She regularly provides risk consulting for hospitals and medical practice groups, including record retention best practices.
Carr devotes considerable time to community projects, serving, for example, on the Events Committee of the Urban Collaborative Accelerated Program, a Providence-based school providing a second chance for students who are at serious risk of dropping out. In the legal community, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Defense Counsel of Rhode Island, and the Rhode Island Superior Court Bench-Bar Committee.
Carr was chosen by Super Lawyers in 2012 and 2013 as a Rhode Island Rising Star.
Carr is not alone at Barton Gilman as a 40 Under Forty winner. Matt Plain, a partner in the Providence office of the firm, is a member of the 2011 Class.
