PROVIDENCE (April 30, 2014) – Barton Gilman is co-sponsoring the third annual Born2Run 5K race in support of Blackstone Academy Charter School.
The race – scheduled for Sunday May 18 at 10 a.m. – will take place at the school (334 Pleasant Street in Pawtucket). The fundraising event also includes a one-mile family fun run, refreshments and prizes.
Blackstone Academy students plan and organize the event as a primary fundraiser for the school. Participation fees are $10 for students and $20 for adults. Children under five are free. Proceeds benefit the school’s health and wellness program.
Blackstone Academy Charter School, founded in 2002, serves students from Pawtucket and Central Falls, with the goal of assisting urban students to complete high school, attend higher education, and contribute to their local, regional and global community.
“We are pleased to once again support Blackstone Academy’s wellness and community involvement initiatives,” said Matt Plain, a partner in Barton Gilman’s Providence office. “We are proud of the Blackstone students and staff, and honored to be part of their continued efforts to serve the school and the community.”
